Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of webRios (“the App”), developed and published by Caffeinated Math, an umbrella of HJJB, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. About the App
webRios provides a local R computing environment on iOS devices. The App allows you to:
- Write and execute R code on your device
- Create and save R scripts
- Generate statistical visualizations
- Install R packages from the webR package repository
- Run R code offline without an internet connection (package installation requires internet)
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement. The App does not contain adult content; this requirement exists to avoid any risk regarding data from minors. The App does not collect any user data as all computation and storage happens entirely on your device.
3. License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal or professional purposes, subject to these Terms and the Apple EULA.
You may not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Redistribute, sell, or sublicense the App
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices
4. Your Content
You retain ownership of all R code, scripts, data, and files you create using the App. We do not claim any rights to your content.
Your content is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
5. Third-Party Components
The App incorporates open-source components, including webR and R, which are subject to their respective licenses. See the Credits page for acknowledgements.
When installing packages, your device connects directly to external package repositories. These repositories are operated independently, and we are not responsible for the content, availability, or quality of third-party packages.
6. Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle information. In short, all R computation happens on your device and we do not collect your code or data.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- The App will meet your requirements
- The App will be uninterrupted or error-free
- Results from the App will be accurate or reliable
- All R packages will be available or compatible
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless HJJB, LLC and its officers, directors, and employees from any claims arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through App Store update notes. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to revoke your license to use the App, remove the App from the App Store, or discontinue the App at any time for conduct that violates these Terms.
12. Apple App Store
You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and HJJB, LLC, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you. Your use of the App is also subject to the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arkansas, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
14. General Provisions
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full effect. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App, superseding any prior agreements.
